Charlotte Donovan - Trainee
I have experienced Addleshaw Goddard from a variety of perspectives ranging from participating in a vacation scheme, to an administrative position in the Client Information Team and then as a Trainee Solicitor; and my overriding impression of the firm is it's openness and ambition. These feelings pervade at every level and are reflected in the firm's approach to both clients and staff alike.
Growth and ambition requires cooperation and during the course of my association with the firm, this has manifested itself through a balance between supervision and responsibility. As a Trainee, you are supported and encouraged but continually challenged through new experiences. During my first seat in Corporate Finance, I have been actively involved in several transactions and in each case, have been given responsibility over a particular aspect of the deal up to, and after completion. Practically this has meant working hard and applying myself to the tasks allotted but at every stage I was made to feel like a valued member of the team and encouraged to embrace that responsibility.
Training contracts are demanding but the more you get involved and the more responsibility you take on, the more rewarding it will ultimately be. Addleshaws commit a huge amount of time and effort to providing an enjoyable training contract experience, allowing Trainees to develop both personally and professionally within a supportive environment.
